Here is your opportunity to become part of the amazing team at Tucker Maxon School. After 9 years in the role, our Finance Director is retiring. This position is full or part time (24 hours), exempt, reports to the Executive Director, and is part of the Senior Leadership Team. We would like to have our new Finance Director in the role by approx. May 1 to be trained by the outgoing Finance Director. QuickBooks online office, $2.4 M budget, total staff of 32. Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree. Certified Public Accountant preferred but not required.

Minimum 5 years of experience as a finance director for a non-profit organization or small business, with a proven track record of success.

A high level of computer proficiency, including expertise in QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Office, required.

Experience in Donor Perfect and FACTS school information systems would be a bonus.

Experience with nonprofit audits and the preparation of Form 990s.

Strong written and oral communications skills, especially communicating numbers to non-finance experts.

Ability to multi-task and maintain focus on required activities in spite of busy office environment.

Self-motivated: The ability to perform work by deadlines without direct supervision.

The ability to interact professionally with other staff, the Board, families, donors, vendors and partner agencies.

Respect privacy and confidentiality in all communications and situations. Maintain confidentiality with donor

information.

Hard working, proactive, energetic. Sense of humor.

Ability to drive to occasional meetings and attend 2-3 after-hours events each year, including our annual Gala.

Primary Responsibilities:

Manage all aspects of accounting in 2-person nonprofit finance office with $2.4M budget.

Provide monthly reconciliation and finance reports to Executive Director (by 10 calendar days after close of each

month), including P&L and Balance Sheet.

Manage all AP and AR.

Report monthly payroll to payroll service Paychex.

Oversee annual spring budgeting process with Executive Director to present to the Board.

Oversee fall audit & 990 process with professional accounting contractors by November each year.

Update census for various insurance policies for staff including LTD, Life, Health Dental, and Vision.

Oversee student financial aid application process with Executive Director and Finance Committee.

Attend bi-monthly Finance Committee and Board meetings and provide reports.

Oversee the school’s adherence to our policy on financial controls.

Direct all purchase orders and invoices to Executive Director or Principal for approval.

Monthly maintenance of tuition and extended care payments.

Close out the fiscal year’s records by July 31 each year.

Annually reviews contracts for insurance, maintenance, etc.

Assures payments of monthly payroll taxes in a timely fashion.

Submits payments for health insurance, building insurance, and employee retirement plans and vendors monthly in a

timely fashion.

Posts invoices for speech, audiology and other services for payment by families or insurance.

Oversees bank deposits, etc., both electronically and in person.

Transfers and posts all PayPal payments.

Work collaboratively with the Development team on program budgets for grant proposals.

Demonstrate respect for and foster sound relationships with students, parents, co-workers, teachers, non-teaching

personnel, and administration and use established channels of communication when there are difficulties or

concerns.

Makes certain that human resources policies such as hiring and termination, salary scale, benefit package and eligibility criteria, and confidentiality are maintained.

Oversees annual tuition comparison survey for private preschool and elementary schools.

Carry out other Finance and HR projects as requested by the Executive Director.

Salary: $72,000 to $82,000/year if full-time (prorated if not) DOE/CPA, plus excellent health and retirement benefits.
