Asphalt Equipment Operator

Responsibilities:

Operate small track loaders, excavators, or rollers to move materials in the site excavation or preparation process as instructed by crew superintendent.

Operate other required small equipment as directed by crew superintendent.

Must have knowledge of how to obtain required compaction of a specific project.

Ability to read plans, layout site and establish elevations accordingly.

Ability to calculate needed cuts, fills and specific quantities or required materials.

Knowledge and capability to oil, grease, service and make normal operating adjustments to the equipment.

Capability to manipulate hand or foot lever to ensure proper machine spread and level surfaces on subgrade of parking lots, streets, driveways, or other similar surfaces.

Complete understanding of all aspects of site preparatory work, grades, drainage, required aggregate types, job specification, needed water content, compaction, and other details related to site preparation.

Requirements:

One to two years of heavy equipment operating experience is a plus.

Have site experience in layout and establishing site elevations.

Knowledge of road construction or civil site construction is required.

Must have solid understanding of basic math skills.

Must have good hand eye coordination when operating machinery.

Must be willing to work overtime, evenings, and weekends when necessary.

Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions including heat, cold, wind, rain and dust.

Must be a team player with strong work ethic.

Ability to communicate with supervisors, co-workers, contractors, customers, and the general public in a courteous and professional manner at all times.

Ability to ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures.

Workers must be punctual and reliable.

Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.

Job requires stretching, bending , lifting, pushing, pulling, twisting, throwing, walking, standing, reaching, and squatting.

Requires lifting of up to 50 lbs.

Pay is weekly. Direct Deposit after 30 days of employment. Benefits include Medical, Dental, and Vision after 60 days of full-time employment (average 30 hours per week). Retirement 401k plan available with up to 3% employer match after 1 year employment.
