Maintenance technician needed for contract work in managing a small portfolio of properties. Will be classified as an independent contractor and operates in a Fair Housing environment. Small family-owned firm, offering a flexible schedule, competitive pay and opportunity for expanding skill sets and knowledge in real estate management industry.
Knowledge Skills and Experience Needed:
- Painting, patching, drywall, basic carpentry, small to medium repairs
- Ability to perform basic landscaping, snow removal, cleaning functions for turnovers/haul outs/maintenance
- Basic knowledge of repairing plumbing, electric, HVAC a plus
- Problem solving skills in troubleshooting and solving basic maintenance issues
- Ability to communicate with residents, maintain professional demeanor, schedule tasks from diagnosis to completion, shop for parts/supplies, etc.
- Valid Drivers License with reliable transportation and insurance required
- Basic tools needed (hammer, wrenches, screwdrivers, drill, saw etc.)
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, move supplies, ladders, lift at least 50 lbs.
Will be responsible for responding to work orders for common maintenance items, apartment turnovers, and regular weekly/monthly scheduled maintenance items a small number of properties on the East Side of Milwaukee.
Special projects including renovations, larger property improvements will be on an as needed basis and offer potential for extra hours and completion bonuses.
Compensation dependent upon experience in the $23-$27/hour range with opportunity for increases based on performance/responsibility. Minimum of 16-24 hours/week starting.
