Position Summary:

RLS Machining (RLS), a CMT company, is seeking aCNC Lathe Setup Machinistfor ourOmro, WIlocation. TheCNC Lathe Setup Machinistis responsible for setting up and verifying quality first piece parts produced on CNC machines such as Okuma and Mazak 2-3 axis lathes. This position works a schedule of Monday thru Friday from 6:00am-2:30pm. The pay range for this role is $25.00 - $30.00 per hour depending on experience and has a $1,000.00 sign-on bonus

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

-Reads blueprint or job order for product specifications, such as dimensions and tolerances, and tooling instructions, such as fixtures, feed rates, cutting speeds, and depth of cut and ascertains sequence of operations.

-Picks, positions, and secures tool in tool holder (chuck, collet, or tool post).

-Positions and secures work piece in holding device, machine table, chuck, centers, or fixtures, using clamps and wrenches.

-Observes operation of machine and verifies conformance of machined work piece to specifications, using measuring instruments, such as fixed gauges, calipers, and micrometers.

-Operates bench grinder to sharpen tools.

-May set up and operate machines and equipment other than machine tools, such as welding machines and flame-cutting equipment.

-Ensures a safe work environment is maintained, appropriate safety systems/processes are utilized, and ensures compliance with all OSHA and other state/federal safety and environmental related rules and regulations.

Experience, Qualifications, and Skills:

-High school diploma or GED.

-3+ years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

-Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.

-Ability to write routing reports and correspondence.

-Ability to read precision gauges and visual accuracy.

-Ability to produce precision work.

-Experience with CAM software preferred.
