Made is looking for creative and energetic teachers that wants to empower a new generation of sewists! This position will teach classes for adults, and children. Adult classes focus mainly on garment sewing while youth classes are a mixture of garment sewing (i,e. summer camps) and small creative projects. Classes and Camps are taught in the studio (occasionally offsite) in the evenings/weekends and all day during the summer/school breaks. Average hours are 15-20 a week Sept-Jun and 25-40 hours a week July-August.
Qualifications:
Must be 18 years or older.
Experience and working knowledge of garment construction and sewing machine operation.
Experience in teaching sewing or a similar medium preferable.
Able to pass all required background checks to work with children and adults.
Experience working with children and adults in a fast-paced environment.
A fun and exuberant attitude towards sewing and teaching.
A punctual and professional attitude.
Ability to lift/load 20lbs.
Excellent organization and communication skills.
