Research Scientist - Microbiology (Seattle, WA)

IEH Laboratories, a Leader in Food Safety, is now accepting applications for the Research Scientist - Microbiology position at its facility in Seattle, WA. Applicants must possess a Master or PhD degree in Food Microbiology or Food Science. The candidate should be highly motivated and proactive and have a strong passion for food microbiology and food science and be willing to do their best to help our clients on their requested projects.

This is a full-time position and is eligible for standard benefits after a brief waiting period. The pay range for this position is $75,000.00 - $95,000 annually. Full-time employees are eligible for the following benefits after a brief waiting period: medical, dental, vision, life/AD&D insurance, long- and short-term disability insurance, 401(k), health and dependent care FSA plans, employee assistance program, 15 days of paid time off per year for sick leave and/or vacation, 3 days paid bereavement leave, and 6 paid holidays per year.

This position is in the IEH Special Projects team which performs a variety of projects in food science, food microbiology, and other areas of biology in a timely manner. Hence, occasional work on weekends, extended hours and or presence in the lab outside of the normal schedule are sometimes needed. Upon receiving training, the research scientist is expected to help with bench work, proposal/report writing, data analysis, general laboratory works and any other related tasks assigned as per day to day and project needs.
