Public Services Assistant - Lynden Library

The Whatcom County Library System (WCLS) is accepting applications for a part-time Public Services Assistant (PSA) position at the Lynden Library. This job opportunity does not represent a new position, but rather a replacement position at WCLS. The PSA assists patrons at library branches by providing a high level of customer service in a complete range of patron services. Requires Associates Degree and one or more years’ relevant experience or equivalent combination, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to speak and understand English. Twenty (20) regularly scheduled weekly hours plus substitute hours. This position is compensated at Pay Level 7 on WCLS Salary Structure. 2024 Starting wage in Pay Level 7 will be $19.9804 per hour; maximum wage in Pay Level 7 will be $27.9727 per hour. Additional $0.30 per hour Bilingual Pay premium available for employees who pass a language assessment in ASL, Punjabi, Russian, Spanish, or Ukrainian. Sick time accrued one (1) hour of paid sick leave for every forty (40) hours worked in accordance with Washington State Paid Sick Leave Law RCW 49.46.210. PERS pension plan eligible.
