JOB DISCRIPTION FOR: GENERAL MECHANIC

Start date: Immediately- Posted 11/20/23

Starting wage: $30/hr plus medical benefits.

Hours: 40-50hrs, Monday through Saturday available.

Location: 31208 NE 40th St. Carnation, WA 98014

Petition:

- Looking for an organized and committed experienced general mechanic to oversee and perform general maintenance, inspections, repairs, and parts ordering for a busy Masonry contractor servicing the greater Seattle metropolitan area.

Job duties: Candidate will need to stock, organize, and manage a large repair shop that services a substantial fleet of powered hydraulic scaffold (Fraco), Saws, forklifts of various models and field vehicles.

 Maintain equipment maintenance records.

 In-house repairs.

 Outsourcing repairs as needed.

 Perform preventive maintenance work with routine scheduled inspections.

 Remote repairs as necessary.

Experience with:

 Small gas engines.

 Electric motors

 Tools & Saw repair.

 Hydraulic motors, hoses and valves.

 Vendor resourcing for parts.

 Diesel / Fuel injection.

Skills and abilities:

 Valid WA state drivers license.

 Tech savvy with computers.

 Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair equipment with accuracy and speed, ability to create effective working relationships with employees; ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.

 Ability to maintain written and / or digital equipment maintenance records.

 Ability to communicate clearly, respectfully, and professionally.

Work environment:

 Shop environment will consist of a 4-bay heated shop with hoisting equipment.

 Yard is mostly open to elements with the exception of a few outbuildings.

 Currently, there are 3 full-time employees assisting with inventory shipping and receiving. 1 full time truck driver and intermittent field management crew interacting with yard.

 Construction sites in field house scaffold rental fleet equipment and some masonry tools and hoisting equipment. Periodic repairs and maintenance on these sites are required.
