Essential Duties

Implement the state noxious weed law as prescribed in Chapters 17.04 and 17.10 RCW and enforce the policies as directed by the Coordinator and Noxious Weed Control Board.

Initiate the notification process and, if necessary, enforcement procedure as stipulated in RCW 17.04.200 or 17.10.170.

Recognize on sight, or be able to identify, noxious weeds in order to conduct surveys for presence of noxious weeds and determine degree of infestation.

Meet with landowners to identify weeds, discuss integrated weed management, and help landowners with management plans and control plans.

Operate GIS programs on IPad to collect weed location data, and use ArcPro to make maps and access map data.

Prepare reports and documentation of weed cases as stipulated by the Coordinator using Microsoft office programs (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and ArcGIS databases.

Evaluate control efforts implemented by land owners in the control of noxious weeds and follow-up with phone contact, email or letter writing as needed to encourage or enforce noxious weed control.

Prepare and apply herbicides or biological agents, in the management of noxious weeds.

Notify the Field Supervisor of cases involving non-compliance or violations.

Determine property ownership by accessing County Assessor’s records.

Respond to inquiries for information or to complaints in a polite, courteous, and expeditious manner.

Represent the Noxious Weed Control Board as directed by the Coordinator at meetings and public events.

Attend educational activities and trainings as directed by the Coordinator.

Assist Coordinator in conducting educational activities or public service events.

Maintain effective working relationships with other employees.

Complete all in-house forms in a timely manner (eg. timesheets, travel expenses, grant funded work hours log).

Set weekly work schedule on Outlook calendar and communicate work progress with Field Supervisor.

May include other duties as assigned.
