Employment Advisor - Are you someone who believes in the power of employment and has a desire to help others grow?
We are looking for a self-motivated, difference maker to be the trusted guide helping adults with disabilities experience the power of employment. If you are looking for professional growth at Skils'kin, this is a great opportunity!
As Employment Advisor, you have an opportunity to make an enormous impact in the lives of those we serve. We are a non-profit that is all about employment. We serve adults and youth with disabilities through direct and community-based employment. One Unique role with this position is an opportunity to teach high school students with a disability to develop work readiness skills and self-advocacy skills in the classroom.
The person we need is a patient, detail-oriented problem-solver who enjoys the challenge of supporting adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to find the right job, and the challenge of coaching employers to discover the right employee. You will have the freedom to design your weekly work schedule to ensure you are able to work towards client success. You will be responsible for uncovering and overcoming obstacles that our clients face that stop them from successfully integrating into the workforce and improving their lives.
Our environment is periodically challenging, but you are the right person if you can rise to the occasional difficult situation. Once you learn our processes and systems, you will have the freedom to implement your own work plan. Each month, you will see the results of your hard work through your solid record keeping and our reporting.
The work schedule is primarily weekdays during regular business hours, but may include an occasional evening or weekend, depending on client needs and placement. Some of the individuals we serve are placed in retail or other environments with varied shifts.

Our mission is: Empower people. Enhance opportunities. Enrich communities.
Our values are accountability, diversity, relationships, innovation, and integrity. They are more than just words on a wall, but how we make decisions.
You know Skils'kin will be the right place for you if you excel at working independently and are looking to help people with disabilities become more independent. You don't have to have experience! We can train you on the How, we just need your Why.
