The Bear Creek School is currently seeking to add a member to our Middle School leadership team!

We are seeking an individual who will…

Responsible for creating a positive, predictable and supportive student culture that attracts and retain mission-fit students and families.

Direct, manage and evaluate the Middle School student life programs toward the goal of developing wisdom, compassion and courage in students.

Encourage and assist Biblical understanding and spiritual development among and middle school students. Work alongside Middle School division head and faculty to promote tangible opportunities to integrate Biblical truth and worldview integration into daily life.

Work collaboratively with admissions team and division heads to strengthen student culture and retention of mission-fit students.

Oversee, investigate and administer informal discipline outside the classroom, formal discipline, and serious misconduct and recommend consequences to the Vice President for Academic Affairs.

Oversee and train the classroom assistants for supervision of lunch, recess, and middle school breaks and activities.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Secondary Responsibilities

Provide leadership, program planning and coordination for Middle School events including icebreaker.

Plan and implement community service and outreach initiatives, which builds a servant leadership student culture that is invested in developing and sustaining service opportunities within the school, local, regional and national areas of need.

Coordinate the approval and implementation of yearly Clubs and Teams and provide support to Club and Team Advisors as needed.

Oversee the student support team and run weekly meetings to ensure care and well being of the middle school students.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Supervise classroom assistants and provide professional development to shape a predictable and supportive student experience.

Supervise the Student Support Specialist.

Conduct performance evaluation meetings annually and oversee goal setting process with each direct report.

Assist with hiring process for open direct report positions.

Provide oversite of team projects.

Required Experience and Education

Bachelor’s degree is required; Masters of Divinity (or in a related academic field) is preferred.

Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.

Experience working with student development and faith integration initiatives in secondary or higher education is preferred.

Excellent computer skills utilizing a PC with Microsoft Office software.

Awareness or understanding of the Christian Classical Education model.

Currently held CPR/AED/First Aid Certification (with Epinephrine Auto Injector supplement included), or arrangements made to obtain certification within 90 days of employment start date.

You must meet the following physical requirements:

Work in a highly engaged environment dealing with a variety of creative challenges, tasks, deadlines, and personalities.

May work at a desk and computer for extended periods of time.

Regularly use close and distance vision.

Occasionally lift up to 30 pounds.

Work in a traditional climate-controlled office environment with occasional visits between campus buildings, requiring exposure throughout the day to the outside elements.
