About the Position:

As a Lead Fleet Technician / Shop Foreman at Transdev, you’ll schedule and perform fleet maintenance, diagnose and troubleshoot complex problems, and maintain service records for our customers’ vehicles.

Other job duties as a Lead Fleet Technician will include:

Schedules and administers fleet maintenance, assists in troubleshooting problems with equipment.

Communicates availability of vehicles for service with dispatch, maintenance manager and/or other operations personnel.

Repairs and maintains drivetrain and bus equipment on company fleet equipment.

Supervises maintenance operations and maintenance staff. Plans and distributes the work. Delegates responsibilities as appropriate and monitors performance. While involved in reviewing personnel actions (e.g., hiring, promotions and discipline), all such actions are further reviewed and approved by higher management.

Ensures compliance on a day-to-day basis with State, Federal, Client and Company requirements.

Works closely with maintenance manager providing status of maintenance and assist with forecasting fleet requirements. Reviews repair orders for accuracy and completeness.

Assist with daily, weekly, and monthly reports associated with the shop operation.

Assist with ordering fuel for all vehicles, ordering parts, and overseeing subcontracted repair work.

Supervises bus fueling and vehicle cleaning. Assist with UST record keeping, and reporting requirements associated with fuel logs.

Coordinate services for building and ground keeping with vendor and landlord.

Identifies and recommends actions to improve operating efficiency and safety of the maintenance operation.

Completes special projects as assigned by manager. Required to perform hands-on work activities to include but not limited to vehicle repairs, bus refueling, and vehicle cleaning.

Assist manager with performance reviews of associated shop personnel.

Experience, Skills & Physical Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Technical training preferred.

Possess a valid WA State driver’s license and maintains active DOT medical card.

4-5 years of hands-on automotive technician supervisory experience.

Good written and oral communication skills.

Computer skills, to include familiarity with MS Office suite.

Industry experience repairing and maintaining fuel engines and cutaway type equipment is preferred.

Must be able to obtain two ASE certification within 6 months of employment, with certification type based on needs of the shop at the time of employment, to maintain shop’s ASE Blue Seal annual certification.

Work extended hours regularly, including both holidays and weekends in accordance with business needs.

Must be able to work in a standing position for extended periods of time.

Must be able to lift over 50 lbs. frequently.

Exposed and subject to maintenance shop and environmental outdoor working conditions to include working in rain, cold, hot, snow and other weather impacted conditions.

Must be able to work in a crouched position or on back lying on mechanic’s dolly beneath motor vehicle equipment; subjected to dust, dirt, and grease conditions.

Subject to DOT drug testing. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including marijuana, for any reason.
