Top Secret cleared Cloud Operations Engineer

Our client, located at Langley AFB, VA, is currently in need of a Top Secret cleared Cloud Operations Engineer for a 12 month contract. The consultant will work onsite in support of hybrid cloud infrastructure, automation and cloud services. Responsibilities:

• Implement infrastructure provisioning automation, using IaC practices, and tools and technologies such as Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, etc.
• Maintain Windows services including AD, DNS, AD Federation Services, Exchange/E-mail, MS SQL, MS System Center, or cloud provider equivalent services.
• Ensure cloud and hybrid services are compatible to enable seamless service offerings to customers.
• Monitor usage of infrastructure resources to ensure the environment is providing adequate compute and storage capacity to meet mission requirements in all operated environments.
• Continuously monitor IaaS and PaaS uptime in all operated environments to provide uptime and usage data to the government upon request.
• Respond to escalated technical issues from customers or other team members to resolution.
• Ensure secure implementations of any infrastructure service or offering using industry best practices, STIGs, or vendor recommendations
• Ensure all necessary software and H/W requirements are utilized to full potential and make recommendations for any changes or updates for enterprise implementations.
• Support the IaaS Architects as needed for project planning, troubleshooting, and implementation.
• Provide technical expertise and maintenance of detailed architectural designs, plans, and documentation IAW industry standards. Includes detailed documentation on infrastructure and networks, configuration and layout of storage infrastructure, data sharing and migration plans, recovery plans, incident response plans, and backup and archiving plans.
• Provide on-call 24/7 support via on-call schedule or as needed; on-call services may include but not be limited to: Tier 2 and Tier 3 Help Desk support, incident response, and incident mitigation.

• Active DoD Top Secret clearance
• DoD 8570 certification, Sec+ or equivalent.
• Experience working as an engineer leveraging large-scale hybrid cloud infrastructure as their primary application platform.
• Experience working within Cloud Service Providers such as AWS and Azure.
• Able to lead new service and feature delivery process from concept to release – design, build, test, and ship – at a regular cadence.
• Able to manage, monitor, and troubleshoot existing infrastructure and ensure any SLAs are met.
• Deep understanding of modern security best practices for cloud infrastructure and networks.
• Able to ensure SLA/SLO metrics are tracked and reported as required.
• The ability to create and manage Virtual Private Clouds, internet gateways, VPN tunnels, etc.
• Familiarity with hosting platform environments and ability to enable hosting of Kubernetes as needed.
• Familiarity with issue tracking tools such as ServiceNow, GitLab, Vantive, etc.
• Excellent written communication skills to provide detailed documentation.
