Splicing Technician Splicing Technician with good

fiber optic fusion splicing skills is needed for on-going Data Center projects. This is a long term, no end date defined contract to hire position with strong potential to convert to full-time. The Fiber Optic Technician will primarily work in a team environment concentrating mainly on

splicing fiber cables for new construction within the data centers. Other responsibilities within the cable installation process may include, rack, stack, patch, routing, cable terminations, labeling, and grounding.

Responsibilities for the Splicing / Fiber Optic Technician

• Installation of structured cabling systems including
  Fusion Splicing
• Ribbon and single fiber loose tub fusion splicing
• Reads and interprets all floor plans, drawings, and specifications
• Performs system testing and troubleshooting as required
• Terminates, labels, tests and troubleshoots optical fiber and copper installations

Requirements for the Splicing/ Fiber Optic Technician

• Minimum 2+ years’ work experience in Structured Cabling experience in a commercial environment.
• Minimum 1+ years' of experience in
  Fiber using at least one of the Splicers below
• FUJIKURA/AFL Fusion Splicer.
• SUMITOMO Fusion Splicer.
• COMWAY Fusion Splicer.
• Jetfiber Fusion Splicer.
• INNO Fusion Splicer.
• DVP Fusion Splicer.
• TEKCN Fusion Splicer.
• Data Center installation experience is a plus.
• Any BISCI certifications are a plus.
