Littlejohn’s is an historic sub and sandwich shop that utilizes high-quality and fresh ingredients. We’re hiring immediately for work at Littlejohn’s on the University of Virginia’s Corner District. Shift Leader:
Shift leaders are responsible for overseeing, teaching and working alongside
team members throughout their shift to execute Littlejohn’s operational standards and deliver a wonderful guest experience. They set goals, provide job assignments and motivate others, celebrating successes and providing timely feedback to correct deficiencies.

Responsibilities include:
Talk employees into, through, and out of position on each shift, communicating responsibilities, providing feedback, and recognizing achievements in a respectful manner
Deploy team members appropriately to meet guests’ needs and service standards throughout each shift while displaying a friendly personality
Be consistently awesome with open, mid or close routines for your shift and setting the next shift up for success
Communicate goals and hold team members accountable for performance during their shift
Excellent guest service skills and the ability to communicate efficiently
Drive sense of urgency through team members to satisfy guests’ needs and resolve problems
Recognize team members for a job well done each shift
Ability to meet physical requirements of the position, including walking, lifting, twisting, reaching, stooping, kneeling, pushing, pulling or moving heavy objects up to 50 pounds
Monitor team performance to ensure quality, service and cleanliness standards are met throughout each shift
Ensure restaurant standards and marketing initiatives are properly executed during shift
Follow all systems and processes to control labor costs and food costs throughout the shift
Monitor and ensure team members comply with all policies and procedures related to cleanliness, food safety and restaurant safety and security during their shift
Report equipment issues, provide team member performance feedback, and discuss other restaurant opportunities with the General Manager
Comply with Littlejohn’s policies and adhere to all recipe standards
Qualifications:
Must be able to speak and read English fluently
Math and Writing skills
Restaurant and supervisory management experience preferred
Guest Focus - anticipate and understand guests’ needs and preferences and exceed their expectations
Results Oriented - set compelling targets and deliver on commitments
Problem Solving - make good decisions based on analysis, experience and judgement
Food Safety - lead the team with a culture of food safety that exceeds VDH standards in cleanliness, food quality and food safety practices
Coaching Effective Teams - delegate responsibilities to your team and ensure they exceed the expectations of each guest
Night, Weekend and Holiday availability is a plus
