The Computer Hardware Technician is primarily responsible for imaging workstations, servers, and other types of systems such as VMWare hypervisor. Individuals should be prepared to go onsite to Red River Equinix Datacenter and customer locations if required. Position will also play a secondary role with managing customer assets while stored in the Red River warehouse to ensure accuracy of inventory.Primary Position Tasks:

  • Following a defined standard operating procedure when imaging client workstations
  • Perform Hardware dispatches as required by RRMS management
  • Assist with configuring computer systems i.e.: computers, servers, network stack staging
  • Participating in workstation imaging projects where individuals may be primary point of contact for imaging
  • Conduct warranty request and follow-up per client request
  • Understand concepts of Intune/Azure for configuring devices via AutoPilot/Intune Enrollment
  • Assist with maintaining VMWare Hypervisor software updates
  • Add/Update required technical documentation
Preferred Education/Certification/Experience:
  • Associates Information Systems
  • Entry Level Certification: AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner or Microsoft 365 Fundamentals or Microsoft Technology Associate.
  • Basic experience with Intune, Azure AD, On Prem Domain Services
  • 1 year of experience working with Windows Operation Systems and MacOS
  • Familiar with Microsoft Endpoint Manager Admin Center - AutoPilot configurations, Resets, Renames, Add/Delete, Profiling
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledge with Windows and MacOS
  • Demonstrated ability to manage an asset inventory and reconcile data, ensuring high levels of accuracy
  • Working proficiency with standard ticketing and inventory management tools (I.e., ServiceNow)
  • Basic VMWare knowledge
  • Basic understanding of cloud-based systems: AWS and/or Azure.
  • Basic understanding of Active Directory, Share Point, MS Exchange, MS Office 365, MS 365 portal.
  • Basic understanding of Windows VPN Services
  • Strong communications skills and possess the ability to provide complete and accurate documentation.
  • Basic understanding of MDT/WDS/SCCM - Manage/Update Golden Images
Essential Elements:May be required to help with equipment install. Lifting of up to 70lbs may be requiredThis position requires travel throughout the local area (DC, MD, VA) and extended regions as needed. Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license is required, and tolls and parking are reimbursed.
