In addition to working with our product engineering team, this position collaborates closely with our manufacturing, safety, and continuous improvement teams. The goal of the manufacturing engineer will be to implement safety and efficiencies to our manufacturing process.WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Manufacturing Possess a commercial awareness of equipment utilized in the manufacture of air control products. Primary raw materials include stainless steel sheet, plate, and structural shapes.- Knowledge to recommend and implement automation within our manufacturing environment.- Ability to analyze material handling concepts and suggest methods for process improvements.- Knowledge of processes in the application and curing of electrostatically applied surface coatings.- Ability to develop ROI analysis for new equipment and facility improvements.- Ability to investigate and troubleshoot operational characteristic of mechanical and electrical equipment.
  • Design Ability to design custom devices and equipment used in the manufacture of our products.- Working with equipment manufacturers; clearly communicate specifications, design requirements, and operational characteristic required for our process needs.- Establish operation procedures for custom equipment or processes.- Perform independent studies, analyses, interpretations and develop conclusions.- Through collaboration with our manufacturing teams, assist in the development, training, planning, and implementation of new equipment / processes.
  • Applications Effectively apply organizational systems, and company policies and procedures.- In consultation with others, determine requirements of process techniques and improvements to our manufacturing system. Communicate these plans clearly to management.- Anticipate problems before they occur and build rapport with all manufacturing staff.- Ability to troubleshoot, identify discrepancies, and suggest sound solutions to enhance or repair mechanical system.
  • Miscellaneous Interface with vendors as a professional representative of the company.- Assist with basic business finance in the areas of capital expenditures and product cost.
JOB DESCRIPTION
  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing environment as an engineer
  • BS in Engineering, Mechanical Preferred
  • Working knowledge of and an appreciation for lean six sigma manufacturing practices and methodologies.
  • Solid grasp of drafting, documentation, and associated standards.
  • Experience with Solidworks and Solidworks PDM. Competence in solid modeling and assemblies required.
  • Experience with basic power and control circuit components and design practices.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing processes related to sheet metal and machining.
  • Demonstrated hands-on mechanical ability.
  • Must excel in a team environment demonstrating strong interpersonal skills, positive attitude, and multi-tasking skills.
  • Must be able to quickly adjust to shifts in priorities.
  • Strong computer skills with general business software including MS Office.
  • Demonstrated exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply mathematical skills, interpret and analyze data and trends.
  • Ability to analyze trend data and apply logic reasoning in developing sound conclusions.
  • Demonstrated ability to extract key information in generation of a decision analysis.
  • Ability to apply trouble-shooting skills in a variety of production related settings
Physical Demands
  • Standing, walking, and occasionally lifting (up to 50 lbs. unassisted)
  • Characteristics include periodic noise (within safety limits) from manufacturing processes.
  • Safety glasses and other required protection must be worn when in a manufacturing area.
