Fourbital Factory on Pine Street is looking for a skilled Industrial Maintenance Technician to oversee the installation and maintenance of our industrial sewing equipment. As an industrial maintenance technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our machinery and mechanical equipment. This will include installing new equipment, performing regular services and maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting equipment breakdowns. This role is ideal for someone passionate about sustainable manufacturing and eager to learn and grow in a diverse, hands-on technical environment. No prior experience is necessary, as we provide comprehensive training in various manufacturing techniques and machinery operations.

Essential functions of the job:

1. Machine Maintenance and Repair

Routinely observes machine performance and conducts preventive maintenance according to preventive maintenance instructions. Ensures that machines are routinely cleaned and in good working order. Logs and tracks routine maintenance.

Maintains a clean and orderly workspace to ensure safe work practices and to maintain the quality of materials at or near the space.

Helps troubleshoot machine failures. Works with the Industrial Maintenance Manager to assess next steps.

Insures proper maintenance of related documents and manuals.

Ensure that sewing machines are set to the appropriate settings for each project including determining what those settings should be on new materials.

Complies with all operational standards regarding safe work practices, personal protective equipment, and the tracking of machine chemical/operations as directed by VOSHA.

2. Facilities Management

Conduct regular safety checks and maintenance of the facility, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.

Performing routine maintenance and facility improvement projects around the building.

3. Operate Machinery

Cross-trained to operate circular knitting machines, fabric printing machines and laser cutting machines to support production team when need arises.

Understanding the intricacies of machine settings, safety, and maintenance protocols.

Education/Experience:

No previous experience required. High school diploma or equivalent. Strong willingness to learn and adapt to different machinery and technologies. Basic mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. Ability to work well in a team and communicate effectively. Commitment to sustainability and eco-friendly practices.

Physical requirements:

Work is usually performed on the production floor. Must have physical and cognitive dexterity necessary to operate computer/digital production machinery and related hand tools. The position requires lifting, twisting, and bending, ambulation throughout the production floor and limited movement in one location for long periods (whether sitting or standing) generally oriented around production machinery. Operators are expected to use both hand and machine tools using all safety equipment and processes recommended by the manufacturer.
