RESPONSIBILITIES:Kforce's client, a growing and established Engineering Technology company in Orem, UT, is seeking a Director or Manager of Test Engineering. We are working directly with the Hiring Manager on this exclusive search assignment. This company offers a competitive compensation package including base salary and stock/RSU's. The Director of Test Engineering will ensure that the company's products and systems are of high quality.Responsibilities: Developing and implementing test strategies and plans to ensure high quality and reliable products and systems Leading a small team of test engineers, providing technical guidance, coaching, and mentoring to ensure they perform at their best Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including product management, software development, and quality assurance, to ensure that testing efforts are aligned with product goals and requirements Identifying, evaluating, and implementing new testing tools, techniques, and methodologies that improve the efficiency and effectiveness of testing Serve as release manager, working closely with Engineering Leadership and Operations leadership, to ensure software updates are released properly and with high quality Ensuring that testing is integrated into the software development life cycle and that testing activities are aligned with project timelines and milestones Developing and managing the test engineering department's budget, including identifying resource needs, allocating resources, and monitoring expenses Establishing, monitoring and updating key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness and efficiency of testing processes and outcomes Managing relationships with external vendors and contractors as necessary to support testing initiatives The products are electro-mechanical platforms that contain softwareREQUIREMENTS: Bachelors or advanced degree in a related field such as Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics. Or equivalent work experience At least 8-10+ years of experience in Test Engineering including system level testing of both hardware and software At least 2-4+ years of experience managing a team of Test Engineers Familiarity with Linux Operating System or similar systems Familiarity with Build Systems such as Jenkins or Gitlab Excellent mathematical and problem-solving skills Strong analytical and problem solving skills Knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools and processes Hands-on experience with automated testing tools Ability to do field work at company's local site, with electronic equipment Strong management skills- team building Technical expertise, leadership, and collaboration skills, as well as the ability to manage resources effectively and drive continuous improvementNice to have but not required: Experience working with JIRA Aptitude for communicating technical concepts & details effectively Proficient at developing scripts in Python or other scripting languages Ability to be resourceful and think on your feet and solve problems in dynamic environments Strong written and verbal communication skills Hardware Testing experience is a plus Strong computer skills, including operation of multiple operating systems, and working knowledge of networks and networking Experience with RF Based Electro-Mechanical Systems is a plus but not required Familiarity with Java and/or C are plusses but not requiredThe pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law.
