Availability: 25% travel required in TX; Hybrid

Location: Central TX

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Business or a related field.

  • Ability and flexibility to travel to job sites in Central Texas (Austin, San Antonio, Dallas areas) – travel up to 25% a year
  • Someone located (or willing to relocate) to Central Texas so that they are near the customer job sites
  • Helioscope experience preferred
The Solar Project Developer will assist the development of solar projects and solar and storage projectsin the {Central US} market with primary focus in the State of Texas. The Solar Project Developer willwork closely with business development, management, engineering, project management, andconstruction staff to identify, assess and structure technical and financial solutions for customers'renewable and energy efficiency needs. The Solar Developer will lead the project through Pre-Construction due diligence to contract.The Solar Project Developer possesses a strong technical aptitude and the communication and businessacumen to translate customer needs into technical guidelines.Key Responsibilities Cross-functional training activities with the following functional teams within Centrica:Engineering, Project Management, and Project Development. Oversee and/or perform the Helioscope design and budgeting of projects. Engineering analysis including production estimates, baseline profiles, end-use analysis, retrofitanalysis and system optimization with solar design software. Audit sites as needed for PV solar installation suitability, environmental limitations, structurallimitations, etc. Develop professional quality proposal content for technically complex, multi-site PV solar andbattery storage systems (BESS) installations. Manage 3rd party vendor relationships and Scope of Work/proposals. (i.e. Electrical andStructural partners) Ability to support O&M services through Asset Management for vendor quotes for the projectbudget. Responsible for developing of proposals, reports and presentations in collaboration with theSolar Analyst. Prepare project technical write-ups and detailed project costing. Support Solar Engineer to obtain and record AHJ Engineering requirements for engineeringdetails. Assist Solar Engineer in filling and submitting the interconnection applications to utilities. Cultivate and foster customer relationships with Account Executives and Project Managers Network within industry.RequirementsEducation Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Business or a related field. ORBachelor’s in Distributed Energy/Generation.Experience 4+ years of work experience in the solar industry and or Engineering, Operations or Sales ofsolar projects. Experience in commercial and industrial Solar projects is required with demonstration of full lifecycle project experience from concept to performance. A clear set of completed solar projectsthat have been screened, audited, designed, installed, interconnected and commissioned withPermission to Operate. Additional experience related to O&M or M&V on projects preferred Desired experience in multi-site program solar rollouts Good understanding of construction of solar projects. Helioscope modeling skills preferred MS office, Excel, Word and Adobe proficiency Some knowledge and correct usage of the National Electric Code Good communication skills and the ability to interact in a team environment Good organizational skills Good technical skills relating to Behind the Meter interconnection, inverters, racking, andoverall system design for projects ranging from 100kW to 5MW DC. Past experience and an up-to-date knowledge of best practices as they relate to solar andstorage projects is preferredCertifications and Licenses Valid Driver’s License; Travel required with employee’s automobile NABCEP Certification - PreferredKnowledge, Skills and Abilities A highly self-motivated and ambitious individual A person with a high sense of urgency and a pro-active approach to problem solving Professional presence High energy and action oriented Financial planning and budget experience with the ability to develop a business case Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills Strong computer skills with the Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel)Equipment ListThe equipment listed below are items that are normally operated as part of the position's duties. The position also frequently communicates with co-workers and third (3 rd ) partyservices and must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.On-site audits are required that may involve climbing onto roofs of facilities.Travel in vehicles will be required within a 2-3 hour radius of primary work location with additionalpersonal travel longer than 3 hours may be required on a case-by-case basis.Travel Up to 25% travel may be required for on-site meetings or construction services. Physical location residing in Texas is required with preferred locations in or near Austin, Dallas,or San Antonio. Working remote is an option with a physical office environment optional in Dallas, TX only. Occasional visits to the Dallas Regional office preferred but not required.
