Commissioned Security Officer
Houston Metro Protective Services, Texas Dept. of Public Safety License #B17918 is looking to hire Commissioned Security Officers to ensure student and staff safety at Houston area private schools.
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
Ability to clearly and accurately record information in writing.
Ability to work under pressure in emergency situations and maintain and exhibit emotional control.
Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse cultures.
Required Qualifications:
Active Level 3 Commission (with card in hand).
Minimum two years’ experience working in an armed capacity.
Must have reliable transportation.
Must have valid Texas Driver’s License.
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Ensure the campus is properly and adequately secured by monitoring student activities in hallways, conducting facility checks and patrolling premises, including parking areas for the presence of unauthorized persons and verifying their identity.
2. Alert administrators of the presence of unauthorized persons within campus boundaries.
3. Direct authorized visitors to their proper destination.
4. Report safety and security vulnerabilities (such as fire hazards and unsecured exterior doors) to campus administrators and notify police, fire department, or other appropriate authority of any situation requiring immediate attention.
5. Manage crisis situations as they occur.
6. Patrol campus exterior including parking areas for unauthorized persons and vehicles, as well as improperly parked
vehicles; and report violations to campus administration.
7. Maintain daily contact with campus and security administrators by way of radio and/or telephone.
8. Maintain confidentiality of student, personnel and district information.
9. Establish and maintain a professional rapport with local law enforcement and staff; exhibit behavior that is professional, ethical and responsible; serve as a role model and maintain professional standards of conduct with students, personnel, parents, and visitors.
10. Contribute to the prevention of accidents and injuries by observing safety rules and District policy, practicing the principles and skills taught in safety training, wearing personal protective equipment as required, reporting injuries and incidents immediately, and being proactive in the ongoing efforts to improve and maintain workplace safety.
All uniforms, weapons and duty gear are provided by the company. Bi-weekly Pay.
