Workstation Support Technician

Qualifications:

• Associate degree in computer science, IT, or other job-related work experience plus 2 years of experience
• Strong customer service skills
• Ability to identify and follow proper documented procedures and scripts used for troubleshooting problems
• Ability to provide Tier II support to IT users for basic software and hardware of end-user computing and desktop-based LAN systems
• Familiarity with computer and workstation equipment
• Must we able to work in a fast-paced, multi-platformed environment, which may require action and response 24x7 to support the technical business needs of the customer
• Ability to transport items up to 30 pounds and occasionally items up to 70 pounds

Required Certification:

• A+ certified

Responsibilities:

• Installs and configures workstation software and hardware for IT users
• Learns to identify proper documented procedures and scripts used for troubleshooting end-user problems
• Follows established policies and procedures and assists in rollout and installation of workstation software and hardware
• Performs software updates and handles moves, computer setup, and peripherals from site to site
• Maintains workstation hardware and software
• Replaces hardware that has become faulty and corrects software issues
• May order replacement parts and tracks statinventory of items
• Ensures tools and equipment are licensed and approved by purchasing
• Completes data backups and restorations for users
• Assists customers/users and answers questions regarding their equipment
• May perform software testing and evaluation of new software and hardware prior to production
