We are hiring a Montessori Toddler Classroom Assistant to start as soon as possible.
Montessori/center based child care experience is preferred but we will train the right person. Newly trained Montessori teachers encouraged to apply. Before starting this position, you must be enrolled in Central Background Registry, and either have a current Food Handler’s Card, be current in Infant/Child First Aid/CPR (or be able to take it within 30 days), Other Office of Childcare required training within the first 30 days of hire.

Ours is an all day, and year round Montessori program. All staff get 4 weeks of paid closure vacation time, eleven paid holidays, and earn PTO/sick/flex time up to 80 hours a year.
We view the role of teacher as a guide or collaborator with the children, the environment, and the other adults. We view the role of all the adults in the environment as ‘teacher’. We understand that learning happens all the time, and not just while the children are working with the Montessori materials. Portland Montessori Collaborative (pdxMC) is deeply committed to environmental sustainability; we integrate environmental conservation into our curriculum and practice.
