Magdalene Home exists to give homeless teen girls and young women who are pregnant, parenting, or considering adoption a safe and supervised place to live. We are looking to hire part- time housemothers who who feel called to mentor young moms and their children. Applicants must be willing to work evening and overnight shifts.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES
Model desired behavior to the Residents.
Provide training and guidance for the residents.
Perform shift household duties to help maintain the home.
Interact positively and appropriately with teen girls and their children.
Maintain a safe and supportive environment for the Residents.
Support and follow the direction of the Lead Housemother.
Adhere to the mission of the Home, including respecting the dignity of all human life.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicants must have a general knowledge of homemaking skills (ability to cook, perform housekeeping duties).
Handle emergency situations in a calm manner
Have ability to work through challenging situations with an enthusiastic attitude, showing fairness and respect for the rights of others
Must be able to maintain discipline in a home environment.
Must be reliable and dependable.
Must have basic communication skills, oral and written.
Must be willing to submit to criminal background check.
Minimum educational requirement is a high school diploma or general equivalence degree.
