Responsibilities

Payroll – run payroll in-house though QuickBooks, prepare and submit all payroll tax reporting required on a monthly, quarterly and yearly basis. Responsible for all things on the payroll side of personnel management, such as garnishments, wage verifications.

Banking – prepare and make deposits, reconcile bank and merchant statements.

General Ledger - reconciliations, create accurate journal entries, prepare month end closing through series of processes unique to the company, prepare year end closing to be tax ready for CPA.

A/R – enter customer billing, enter all payments (check, cash and credit card), monitor past due accounts like a hawk and perform collections functions.

A/P – post invoices, reconcile vendor accounts, project upcoming payments, and perform weekly check runs.

Other - Prepare variety of unique monthly and quarterly reports, analysis, and duties for management.

Skills

Ability to handle a very high volume of transactions across multiple transaction types (bills, invoices, payment receipt, credit card transactions, collection calls) while maintaining accuracy and staying caught up.

Able to manage priorities and discern the distinction between mission critical and non-critical tasks.

Ability to shut out distractions while maintaining a good attitude.

Communicate clearly your needs, progress, and problems encountered with management and department heads in order to stay on track.

Great attention to detail is assumed since this is a financial position.

Qualifications

Extensive QuickBooks background across a broad scope of modules.

Previous, recent experience processing payroll within QuickBooks preferred.

Strong Excel and Word experience, beyond just the basics.

Ability to learn new software as the need arises.

Solid familiarity with general accounting principles.

Ability to self-manage and stay on pace for deadlines.

Experience

Minimumfive (5) yearsas a full cycle bookkeeper or minimum 5 years as a dedicated departmental accounting clerk (A/P, A/R, Payroll) in combination with separate 3 years as full cycle bookkeeper.

Minimum 2 years working in QuickBooks, preferably Desktop Pro or Enterprise. These are different that QB Online.

4 yr degree not required.

Environment

We are a successful and growing company that values both our customers and employees. We have occasional company bought lunches or treats. Position is likely 40-43 hrs/week, Mon-Fri with a 30 minute unpaid lunch. Position is on-site 100% - no remote working available. This is a chance to take full control and use all of your accounting capabilities to help make an impact. One other department employee may report to you for some items.

Benefits

PTO program with periodic increases, and 6 paid holidays. Pay is $62,000-65,000/yr salary, DOE. A monthly health insurance stipend of $350 is included. 50% matching payment (3% limit) to a payroll deduction Roth IRA retirement plan available as well. Periodic reviews with room for growth.
