Job Opportunity - Museum Security Officer with The Dayton Art Institute in Dayton, OH

As the Safety Security officer with the Dayton Art Institute, you will be responsible for ensuring the protection and safety of our staff, members and guests, museum collections, and our properties and facilities from various potential threats while delivering exceptional customer service.

This is apart-time position with an hourly rate of $17.00 based on experience with an increase after a 90 day training period. You will be required to work a minimum of three shifts per week (average of 24-hours) including weekends. Successful candidates must be available to work during museum operating hours Wednesday through Sunday, some holidays, and special events. Uniform shirts and jackets provided.

The successful candidate will have a strong attention to detail, communication, sound judgment, exceptional decision-making skills, and an ability to respond effectively in emergency situations. Other requirements of this position include:

Previous Security experience is highly preferred

Previous customer service experience preferred

Must be able to stand for long periods of time

Ability to climb stairs and lift/move up to 45 Ibs.

First Aid/CPR/AED certifications are preferred, but will train

Knowledge of American Sign Language and/or multilingual a plus

Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug, nicotine, and tobacco free test
