Job DetailsOpen to Relocation - Currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer (PE) to join a international engineering firm that is looking to add to their team in Cleveland, Ohio. Candidate will lead the design of mechanical building systems (HVAC & plumbing) for new and existing building facilities in the aerospace, pharmaceutical, food processing and packaging, educational, entertainment, industrial, and commercial industries. Summary:

• Performs a variety of assignments requiring the application of standard design engineering techniques for a small project or selected segments of a larger project
• Design and engineer Plumbing, Piping, HVAC and Fire Protection systems to assure safe reliable and energy efficient operation.
• Supervises or directs the workflow of less-experienced engineers in performing HVAC or other system design and documents production of small and large projects
• Provides conceptual design for specific projects
• Serves as a design professional at project team design meetings
• Prepares complex preliminary redline design layouts for estimating
• Performs more complex calculations for a project, such as heating/cooling loads, equipment selection and sizing, friction loss calculations, etc.
• Performs site inspections to determine compliance with construction documents and resolves design issues during construction phase
• May supervise other engineers and/or technicians on a project basis.
• Responsible for the selection of equipment to be used to satisfy the scope of the project.
• Evaluates vendors' bids and drawings to assure compliance with specifications and requirements of the project.
• Reviews and approves design drawings of other employees or offices for an assigned segment of a project
• Must ensure that all design work is within the preliminary scope definition and complies with all applicable building codes.

Requirements:

• 4-year mechanical engineering degree
• At least 5 years' related work experience designing MEP systems for commercial / industrial projects
• PE License highly preferred
• Experienced in software packages such as Revit, AutoCAD and other automated engineering and design equipment.
