Position Summary:
The quality inspector is an integral part of the CMI Team with demonstrated inspectional proficiency, while performing assigned tasks with limited supervision. This includes recognition of routine problems and the ability to keep the inspection process flowing by making detail-oriented, unbiased dimensional and visual determination of product acceptance.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Understands customer-focus is primary
Demonstrated understanding and interpretation of internal/customer print specifications
Proficiency using various measuring tools such as comparators inside and outside micrometers, rules, tapes, calipers and other devices; CMM/Faro arm experience desirable
Perform visual and dimensional inspection of outgoing final inspection of machined, milled and fabricated components to ensure that materials meet print specifications, purchase order agreements and customer quality contract expectations
Ability to create CoC’s for finished goods products to various customer requirements
Frequent use of methodic problem solving skills
Perform/assist with comprehensive first article inspections
Quarantine subject material, tag and assist with disposition; Provide unbiased evaluation of product based on established print and purchase order specifications
Ability to communicate inspection results by clearly reporting visual or dimensional information.
Ability to communicate with all levels of production, operations and management
Ability to perform duties in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Audits completed manufacturing work instructions for compliance to standards
Assist with non-conforming and corrective action reports
Requirements
Required Experience:
Must have the ability to read and understand blueprints and specifications.
Use of various types of inspection equipment
Able to identify visual and dimensional criteria and features for applicable parts
Regularly applies accurate judgment on product and process characteristics
Working knowledge of ISO 9001 and AS9102 FAI
Recognizes and complies with all applicable CMI safety procedures
Ability to perform duties timely, independently or with limited supervision
Ability to prioritization work based on demand or as directed
Execute physical inspection of product to assure product conformance
Understands and complies with statistical sampling plans
Adheres to various operational procedures
Entry of records and documentation, in both written or electronic form
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Understanding of manufacturing prints and product / process specifications.
Strong math skills
Wages are commensurate on experience
