Terminal Manager

Objective: The terminal manager oversees dock operations to ensure all incoming and outgoing freight is processed on-time and error free while monitoring compliance with safety standards. Key Deliverables: 1. Display a positive attitude and provide courteous, friendly service to all internal team members and external clients by responding promptly and efficiently to inquiries, requests, and complaints. 2. Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of Lanter Delivery Systems Non-Negotiables and apply the concepts daily. 3. Coach, motivate, and empower team members and co-workers to perform to the best of their abilities and continuously develop in their assigned tasks and duties ensuring procedures and policies are being followed. Coach team members as needed, praising, and reinforcing positive behaviors to encourage repeat performance as well as redirecting behaviors to stop negative performance. Document interactions in a timely manner. 4. Have regular one-on-one conversations with each direct report, discussing overall performance as well as team members goals. Provide training and support as needed to ensure continued growth. 5. Assist with hiring, onboarding, training, and development of team members, ensuring they have the tools and resources needed to be successful. 6. Ensure carrier partners are meeting expectations by picking up and delivering freight on time and error free according to customer specifications. 7. Lead and manage continuous improvement projects. 8. Generate daily customer reports. 9. Communicate with transportation companies. 10. Ensure effective and safe use of all warehouse equipment with training, manuals, and proper safety measures. 11. Maintain documentation and keep accurate records of warehouse activities. 12. Maintain awareness and knowledge of the condition and location of vehicles. 13. Audit and report inventory while recommending which items to order and restock. 14. Set warehouse and team goals with executive management and other team leads. 15. Monitor workplace performance and lead training initiatives to improve individual and team effectiveness. 16. Keep up to date on the latest federal and state safety regulations. 17. Protect company assets and confidential information in accordance with company policies and procedures, including but not limited to client, team member, and proprietary company information. Position Type / Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position; hours of work are typically Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:00 am and 6:00 pm, averaging 45 hours per week, with an occasional night or Saturday based on the needs of the business.

Travel: This position requires up to 25% travel.

Background and Experience: 1. Proven success in warehouse management. 2. Ability to operate a forklift effectively. 3. Strong knowledge of all Microsoft Office programs. Work Environment: This job operates mainly in the warehouse. There will be prolonged periods of standing and walking. Extreme temperatures are a part of the job, mainly by the incoming and outcoming docks. Safety attire is required whenever in the warehouse. There will also be times when the team member will operate in a professional office environment with prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, copiers, and phones. Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a team member to successfully perform the key deliverables of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to communicate verbally and in writing. The team member is frequently required to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods. The team member must also be able to lift to 50 pounds on their own and up to 150 pounds with assistance.
