Job Title: Production Support Engineer

Location: Cary, NC (Hybrid)Job OverviewThis role is in Regulatory & Cross Product Technology, within the Trade Surveillance Production Support team where we are monitoring all trade activities looking for anomalous behavior. This involves managing the stability of the Production environment for Regulatory Data Based Services used across multiple lines of business. The role will be additionally responsible for delivering high quality application support and customer service to a wide user base of Senior Managers within the Bank, improving things where required and applying an engineering approach to increase reliability, efficiency, and stability.Your Key Responsibilities:
  • Application proficiency and specialization – you will be expected to reach and maintain a level of application expertise within the level 1 Controls and Surveillance platform. Provide expert level advice and be able to perform specialized tasks around and within the application. Act as an obvious source of knowledge across the user base and teams providing well informed decision making and advice.
  • Production engineering – you will be expected to go beyond a support role and engineer software solutions with a variety of tools to increase efficiency and stability.
  • Change implementation planning and management - create technical implementation plan based on development release runbook. Implement technical and functional solutions as provided by the application development team. Review release requirements and change specifications and defines/documents proper post deployment testing.
  • Incident management - capture, prioritize, diagnose, and resolve production incidents according to agreed Key Operations Procedures (KOP). Investigate root causes of Incidents and develop robust and sustainable solutions.
  • Production support - act as primary support for the full production platform. Ownership of application logging and Event Management systems used to capture application events and failures.
  • Define and create Runbook documentation and knowledge articles based on production issues.
Your Skills and Experience:
  • Log level and code level analysis/debugging for PROD issues.
  • Required technical skills - Structured Query Language (SQL), Linux, Oracle, Java, Shell scripting, Python, Scheduling tools (control-m/AutoSys), Monitoring tools, Incident management, Problem management, software development life cycle (SDLC) Release Tools
  • Technical skills with Teamcity, Jenkins, Python, and Ansible are desirable
  • Prior experience in Application Development or DevOps, particularly in continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines
  • Experience with cloud-based technologies is a bonus
