Seeking Groundskeeper
We are currently seeking a dependable, hard working, positive, direction following person who has a mechanical lean, knows basic carpentry and landscaping to live at our off grid outdoor education center, or live locally and able to be on site daily, to be a part of our work team at Turtle Island Preserve in Boone, NC. Ideally, if desired this could grow into a long-term position.
Tasks include but are not limited to:
-Groundskeeping: mowing, weed eating, mulching, winterizing, splitting firewood, pruning, removing fallen trees, clearing drainage culverts, care and maintenance of equipment
-Gardening: weeding, planting, harvesting, making compost, greenhouse care
-Buildings Maintenance: blowing leaves from roofs, oiling wood, painting windows, fixing things, cleaning cabins
-Critter care: basic knowledge of horses and chickens, feeding, putting up and letting out, cleaning living quarters
Must be flexible as our needs are constantly changing and at times dependent on the weather. Compensation depending on experience. 30 hours weekly, but is negotiable. Please share with anyone you think may be a good candidate.
