In this role, you will be responsible for performing a variety of assignments using standard design engineering techniques for small projects or segments of large projects. Your goal will be to develop project designs that meet industry standards, are within budget, and completed on time. You will work under the supervision of the EOR and with the support of senior design staff to continuously develop your skills.Key Responsibilities:Take responsibility for project designs under the supervision of the EORDevelop design approaches and concepts with conceptual input and oversight from EORConduct specific engineering studies and design analyses using industry softwareOversee preparation of drawings, ensuring accuracy and neatness of workEvaluate the work of design colleagues and provide feedback and/or correctionsAttend meetings with owners, clients, or architects as neededCoordinate with local authorities, utilities, and municipalities to incorporate associated construction, code, and government requirementsAssist with developing the overall man-hour budget and take responsibility for the man-hour budget within the disciplineDevelop work plans for the discipline team in accordance with the budgetProvide input, feedback, and updates on project schedules; plan work in accordance with the schedulePerform studies, load calculations, and equipment selection appropriate to the project designCoordinate equipment and overall design space requirements with the architect and other disciplinesAttend in-house project kick-off meeting and design meetingsReview work for technical accuracy and completeness prior to the final QA/QC reviewCommunicate design requirements and answer questions from contractors and suppliers during the bid or construction phasesConduct project job site visits during construction to monitor progress and observe installed construction; make comments based on design specifications, owner expectations, and building codesReview shop drawings and submittalsMaintain detailed records of communications with clients, contractors, vendors, and team membersAssist in training, mentoring, and/or developmental guidance of designers and EITsFocus on keeping up with industry trends and changes through continued self-education and trainingAssist the Project Manager in facilitating some project duties as requiredAn ideal candidate will possess the following requirements:Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET accredited college with eight years of applicable experience in discipline design and analysisRegistered Professional EngineerMust have project management experienceHealthcare building design experience preferredRevit experience is a mustKnowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)Knowledge of engineering theories and methodologiesOur organization is an Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action Employer, committed to providing equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, age, gender, gender identity, disability, veteran status, sexual orientation, or any other protected status.Interested in hearing more?
