Construction SuperintendentJob OverviewA Construction Superintendent, or Construction Supervisor, is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all of the activities of a construction site according to project blueprints and schedule plans. Their duties include coordinating subcontractors, performing quality control and safety checks and providing on-site direction when preparing construction sites.Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesManage a team of workers, including work schedules, project progress and resource allocationCreate cost estimates for labor, supplies, materials and other project costsCollaborate with clients, Project Managers, other construction management to determine budget and timelineCoordinate materials and equipment delivery with vendors and suppliersCreate schedules for workers and subcontractorsHire additional subcontractors and assign work accordinglyMaintain a daily log for the job site's operations, reporting to management as necessaryMake changes in the operation as necessary to best meet construction deadlinesImplement management techniques that are cost-effective and efficientJob Skills and QualificationsExcellent communication abilities, including writing, speaking and active listeningKnowledge of construction budgeting best practicesGood planning skills, including design execution, resource allocation and contingenciesUnderstanding of construction equipment, including safe operating practices and signs of maintenance issuesIn-depth understanding of local, state and federal construction regulationsGreat problem-solving and decision-making skillsEffective leadership abilities, like motivation, goal-setting and conflict managementOrganizational skills, including time management, delegation, prioritization and multitaskingEducation and Experience Requirements3+ years of previous experience in the Construction IndustryBeacon Hill is an Equal Opportunity Employer that values the strength diversity brings to the workplace.
