Logistics Unit Technician

Under the guidance of the Senior Lead Procurement and Logistics Unit Supervisor, the Logistics Unit Technician performs the day-to-day inventory operations and technical service and support for maintained assets.Specific responsibilities: Performs upgrades, repairs, maintenance, technical service on a wide range of PC compatiblelaptop and desktop computers, printers, and peripherals. Prepares computer related equipment for release/deployment based on work orders. Receives and stores equipment that is retained for future use and issues these items whenneeded. Monitors inventory levels of all available assets in stock and alerts supervisor when stock is near depletion needed to fulfill daily requisitions. Ensures and verifies proper forms are completed for each transaction by technical staff. Updates work orders in tracking system for each transaction of equipment. Maintains and assists in developing standard Desktop/Laptop images used throughoutHeadquarters. Coordinates with other technical service staff based on service requests received. Receives, unpacks, and inspects new computer related equipment and alerts supervisor ofunsatisfactory or damaged goods. Escalate service requests in line with established service level targets Ensure all authorized service requests are being fulfilled in a timely manner. Understand the policies, procedures, required documents and tools Uses the process, procedures, work instructions, policies, required documentation and tools as designed.Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent. IT Technical certificates desirable. Recognizable understanding of several of the fields concepts, best practices, and procedures. ITIL certification highly desirable. Minimum of 1 2 years technical support experience. IT asset management functionspreferred. Excellent technical skills in the computer hardware, software, operating systems,communication protocols, and diagnostic. Keeps abreast of latest products and technologies available on the market. Easily adapts to change in requirements and performing other duties as needed. Excellent problem determination and troubleshooting skills.
