Bed & Biscuit of Ithaca - Pet Care Specialist

Bed and Biscuit of Ithaca is an upscale dog/cat boarding facility in the Ithaca/Enfield area of Tompkins County, New York. We are now hiring for a Pet Care Specialist. Must be positive, detail oriented, & patient, as you will work with up to 40 dogs with your team on any given day. Ability to work as a team is a must. Applicants are responsible for supervising and caring for groups of daycare / boarding dogs. Candidates must also be able to work outdoors most of the time, handle large dogs and lift at least 50 lbs. Working on some holidays is a must. This is not a seasonal position. Must have own transportation.

Preferred Qualifications

● Experience working with dogs in Animal Science, Veterinary Services, Dog Training, Animal Shelters, or Rescue Experience.

Responsibilities

● Cleaning indoor and outdoor doggies runs

● Cleaning kitty room and grooming rooms

● Sweeping and mopping the lobby, bathroom, kitchen, and hallway plus general

housekeeping

● Preparing doggie food and feeding doggies

● Supervising, walking, caring and playing with dogs, individually or in medium to

large sized groups

● Cleaning up after doggies

● Customer service in checking dogs in and out of the computer system

● Gathering belongings pertaining to dogs and bringing out for check-out

Part-Time Shift 2

Hourly Compensation:

$17.00 - $20.00 per hour
