Role Description
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Select the appropriate tools, fixtures, workpiece per setup sheet.
Low Volume (Typically 1 to 50-part runs).
Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, print or schedule form.
Monitor the machine while working to ensure the job is getting done right.
Check the product to make sure there is consistency with specifications and discard any defects.
Perform secondary operations as required using manual equipment (Mills, Lathes, Grinder, Drill Press, ETC).
Use a variety of hand tools to help in the manufacturing process.
Use measurement tools such as rulers, micrometers, calipers, levels, indicators, etc. to ensure the product meets quality standards and print specifications.
Keep a clean and efficient work environment within 5S guidelines.
Change cutters and inserts as required.
Setup and run CNC Mills (Hurco and Fagor).
Ability to read and edit G-Code is helpful.
Communicate with programmers as needed for program changes.
Adjust tool offsets as required to obtain print dimensions.
Clean up the machine when you are done using it.
Proper disposal of waste such as recyclables, standard waste, etc. is expected.
Individual will need to supply their own rolling toolbox, basic measuring tools, and basic hand tools
Any other tasks as required to fulfill Ankeny Automation’s values, and commitment to quality.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong attention to detail
Qualifications
A.A.S. degree in tool making or similar field, or equivalent experience.
Completion of a CNC Machinist trade school program or equivalent work experience
Proficiency in programming, setting up, and operating CNC machines
Certifications in Machining, CAM, and/or CNC Programming is a plus
Valid drivers license
Forklift and pallet jack experience
