Cook needed for remote Alaska!

Are you looking for a challenging yet rewarding work place for this upcoming summer? Well look no further! We operate a fly fishing camp in remote Alaska located on the Pacific coast of the Alaska Peninsula. The nearest town is 120 miles away. We are completely off grid and run off solar power. We have an opportunity to work with a lot of salmon and halibut at this location which all our guests love.

Our season will run from around July 31 - October 3rd.

We proved a shared tent for the season along with airfare to and from Alaska.

We split our tips evenly between all staff each week.

Each client trip is Saturday to Saturday at this location.

Our menu is for the most part a rotating weekly menu with some variations allowed.

Working in remote Alaska means you have to be able to roll with the punches when the weekly food orders do not come in exactly like you wanted, meaning you gotta be ready to go with plan B or even C some days. Our grocery store who provides our proteins supplies a lot of camps and sometimes can be limited on what they can send us.

Overview:

Generally, you will help develop the season’s weekly menu, create a pre-season grocery/supply list of non-perishable food items, manage and order weekly perishable food items, prepare and serve breakfast, dinner and appetizers, keep an extremely clean and organized work/prep/cook area, wash your cooking and prep utensils and pots/pans “as you go” throughout the day, sweep and mop the cook tent daily, manage the cook tent’s general function and presentation (e.g., make sure the camp helper has the coffee bar out at appropriate time, etc.), help set up and break down camp, help carry groceries and supplies up the hill to camp, and other duties assigned. We do whatever needs to be done to keep the clients happy and comfortable, and you are required to maintain a professional appearance and attitude at all times.

This camp is located in a beautiful tidal flat surround by mountains. If you like to hike, fish or just be outside in general you will really enjoy this camp! The wildlife and scenery is absolutely breath taking.
