Title: Electrical EngineerLocation: Saint Louis, MODuration: 18 Months

Job Description:

Candidates local to St. Louis, MO preferred. Local candidates work out of the St. Louis office Monday Thursday with Work from Home on Fridays

Summary:
  • The Electrical Engineer will lead and support all aspects power distribution system engineering and design for our Capital Projects, including scope development, project execution, and construction support for Factory power distribution infrastructure. The Engineer's primary role will be to support all aspects of Capital Project execution. The Engineer will also support the execution of power system short circuit coordination studies and arc flash hazard analysis associated with Capital Projects.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Lead and support the development and execution of engineering and design work packages related to Power Distribution infrastructure (Medium and Low Voltage) and Building Systems.
  • Self-perform and oversee(if working with 3rd party) the engineering and design of site power distribution infrastructure. Includes creation of work package Scopes of Work, and development of single-line diagrams, power distribution equipment layout drawings, duct bank detail and routing, cable tray/conduit and cable routing, grounding and bonding plans, and lightning protection system plans.
  • Specification of Switchgear, Transformers, Power Distribution Panels, Cable Tray, Cable, and other power distribution equipment and infrastructure. Includes performing load calculations for sizing of electrical equipment.
  • Review and approve Vendor proposals and approval drawings. Verify proposals and approval drawings meet the project specifications, requirements, and the overall intent of the design.
  • Act as the Owner's representative for Factory Acceptance Testing of power distribution equipment.
  • Support construction quality control activities and construction closeout activities. Provide technical support related to construction issues which may involve field verification and supporting contractor requests for information.
  • Support the creation of Requests for Proposals when using 3rd parties to support engineering and design work.

Additional responsibilities may include:
  • Specification of Building Systems such as fire alarm system, access control system, security and camera systems, etc.
  • Specification of indoor and outdoor lighting.
  • Support creation and maintenance of power distribution related technical documentation, such as construction specifications, corporate guidelines and standards.
  • Updating and creating power distribution system models, utilizing SKM Power Tools, per factory capital projects and requests. Deliverables from SKM include one-line diagram updates, TCCC plots, Breaker Settings, Arc Flash Calculations, and Arc Flash Labels.

Basic Qualifications(Minimum):Education/Experience:
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 5+ years experience engineering and designing industrial power distribution systems (medium and low voltage), including the specification of power distribution equipment
  • Ability to develop load calculations for sizing and specification of power distribution systems.
  • Working knowledge of Medium Voltage and Low Voltage power distribution equipment, and Utilities/Mechanical systems controls
  • Working knowledge of NFPA 70 (National Electric Code), and electrical equipment installation and wiring practices
  • Familiarity with SKM Power Tools
  • Knowledge of power system analysis, short circuit coordination studies, and arc flash hazard analysis.
  • Strong Communication/Writing Capabilities
  • Ability to work autonomously.
  • Ability to use AutoCAD to view drawing files, use Microsoft Office products, Bluebeam Revu, Adobe Acrobat.
