Work Location: Central Mississippi (onsite preferred, will consider remote with travel)

Summary: The SAP HRIS / SuccessFactors Analyst will serve as a liaison and between IT and the business units. To be successful in this role, an Analyst should understand the business processes they support as well as the technology behind it, including all integration points between SAP and non-SAP systems when supporting the business processes.

The Business Analyst is primarily responsible for:
  • Identifying and implementing continuous improvement initiatives that drive efficiency and value back into the business.
  • Work with business to create business justifications, gather requirements, design, develop/configuration, unit test, work with business to create test scripts, perform integration testing with the functional leads, training, support, and create/update process flow documentation.
  • Responsible for participating in projects to implement work efforts by completing their tasks and applying project management principles to keep tasks on track and contribute to the overall success of the project.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline (Computer Science, Information Systems) or equivalent education and/or experience related to computer science and programming.

Requirements:
  • The ideal candidate will have come out of a Human Resources (operations) background and moved in to a more technical or business analyst-related role within the past 3-5 years. Experience as an HR Functional resource very important to success
  • Experience in the oil and gas industry is a plus
  • 4-8 years’ experience in the below activities:
    • SAP SuccessFactors experience in Employee Central, Employee Central Payroll, Time Keeping, Benefits and Self Service configuration.
    • Experience supporting and troubleshooting SuccessFactors, particularly ways in which it interfaces with SAP (i.e. payroll, benefits, reporting, etc.).
    • Must have a strong understanding of how Payroll works
    • Experience using software development life cycle (SDLC) including gathering requirements, design, development/configuration, unit testing and integration testing, training, and ongoing support.
    • Ability to work with HR business users to understand their process and create documentation. Utilize various methods (interviews, workshops, observation) to capture details for the documentation.
    • Applying project management principles to organize, track, and complete tasks

Responsibilities:
  • Performs SAP configuration and unit testing, specific to HCM on-prem or cloud version SuccessFactors EC and EC Payroll
  • Supports the HR business in the development of reports out of SuccessFactors EC and EC Payroll
  • Work with development team when customization is required (ABAP or other language) and participate in unit testing.
  • Work with business to write test scripts and participates in integration testing, conversion and deployment activities.
  • Assist in training users in the testing, conversion and implementation of the systems alongside the functional leads. Supports training development and delivery as needed.
  • Support assigned system modules and process. Includes troubleshooting issues and researching continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Prepare system configuration guides for IT documentation
  • Document business processes with swim lanes or Visio diagrams to document process steps, owner, inputs and outputs along with integration points between SAP and non-SAP applications.
  • Participate in on-going education and training to stay informed of the latest strategies in applying SAP to resolve business issues.
  • Participates in requirements gathering sessions, analysis, design sessions.
  • Promotes effective use of assigned system modules in solving business problems and improving business processes.
  • Develop business relationships as trusted IT partner by demonstrating solid grasp of current process, pain points, and seeking to understand their environment.
  • Use of influencing/Internal consulting skills are important. Employ the use of thought-provoking questions to uncover root causes and guide conversation to a conclusion that is best for the business.
  • Researches configuration and determines options for continuous improvement or to extend business processes with technology.
  • Adhering to established IT governance process to engage resources and prioritize work.
  • Keep IT management and business process requestor informed on progress of work as well as any issues encountered.
  • Utilizes project management principles to execute assigned tasks.
  • Ability to prioritize and use good time management to complete tasks in a timely manner.
  • Fulfill other responsibilities as assigned.
