Job Summary:

The Body Shop Accounting Assistant at Merit Chevrolet Co. in Maplewood, Minnesota will be responsible for supporting the body shop and accounting department. This position is a full-time individual contributor role in the auto industry. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational and analytical skills, as well as a high attention to detail. The compensation for this position is between $19-$25, paid weekly.

Responsibilities:

Prepare and process body shop related accounting entries, including but not limited to parts and labor sales, vehicle cost of sales, and repair order payments

Reconcile body shop parts tickets with vendor invoices and assist with resolving discrepancies

Maintain proper documentation and organization of all body shop financial records, including repair orders, parts invoices, and vendor statements

Communicate with vendors, customers, and other internal departments to resolve any accounting-related issues

Provide support for accounts payable and accounts receivable functions

Answer phones and emails

Other duties and projects as assigned by the Body Shop Manager or Controller

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent

At least 1-2 years of accounting or finance experience, preferably in the auto industry

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel

Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills

Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment

Knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Strong work ethic and ability to meet deadlines

Must pass a background check and drug screening
