Position Overview: At RBS, we are seeking an experienced Senior Director of Hosting Services with expertise in the design, development, and implementation of large-scale and complex infrastructure technologies for Fortune 100 enterprise. The Senior Director of Hosting Services will be responsible for providing the infrastructure platforms, data center strategy, disaster recovery capabilities, supporting audit & compliance, design, implementation and sustained operations of the platforms and facilities hosting 1000+ business critical applications for the Ahold Delhaize USA (ADUSA) enterprise. This position is responsible for working with senior IT leadership and business area stakeholders on their requirements and developing the short term and long-term strategy for services and new technology infusion that creates a highly-available and resilient hosting environment that provides best in class resiliency and performance. This individual will be a customer centric leader with deep technical infrastructure experience, strong project management acumen, excellent vendor management skills, plus a superior service-first-oriented approach to infrastructure operations. As a member of the senior leadership team, the role will contribute to the development and execution of the enterprise wide IT strategy, investment planning, budget development, and ensure it aligns with RBS's IT strategy and delivery capabilities. The ideal candidate has led large enterprise hosting services function with a firm grasp of emerging technologies (cloud, containerization, Wintel, Linux/Unix/AIX/Midrange/Mainframe platforms, SAN and NAS platforms, backup software, Active Directory services and advance performance monitoring, event correlation) and has the ability to drive operations excellence to make our business units become more resilient, secure, and efficient. Extensive knowledge of IT infrastructure platforms and operations, and advanced industry knowledge is key to keeping us on the cutting edge. This leader will have an immediate impact on the day-to-day efficiency of our IT operations and an ongoing impact on our infrastructure modernization journey. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Define infrastructure strategies and develop appropriate roadmaps to ensure our infrastructure is capable of meeting key business and technology objectives.
  • Build and maintain relationships with IT leaders and business executives to develop a clear understanding of business needs, ensuring cost-effective delivery of IT services to meet those needs, and responding with agility to changing business priorities.
  • Work closely with the VP of Infrastructure and Security (CISO) to ensure the security of our infrastructure.
  • Responsible for enterprise infrastructure vision and strategy working with multiple executive and senior level stakeholders in creating a clear, convincing technical strategy that aligns to business priorities and objectives
  • Remain current with emerging technology and its applicability to our business. Ensure operational procedures (runbooks) are properly documented and maintained internally and by managed services providers.
  • Ensure ongoing performance monitoring of the infrastructure and ensure service level agreements are met. Provide appropriate analytics, executive dashboards, and set measurable KPIs to provide operational scorecards.
  • Take point on urgent and/or complex issues, ensuring appropriate actions are taken quickly and root cause is determined. Act as an escalation point for the infrastructure service delivery team.
  • Responsible for providing the portfolio management across all transformation change projects, ensuring all projects are delivered on time and budget to the satisfaction of business stakeholders and our customers. Ensure that project deliverables are of high quality and projects are delivered following due process.
  • Play a key role in motivating infrastructure teams to transform and realize the value of transformed infrastructure. Introduce infrastructure transformational thinking into US architecture and engineering teams driving motivation to transform and not just refresh the infrastructure.
  • Work across the organization to identify emerging transformational thinking talent and provide opportunity to engage staff at all levels to contribute to the change agenda.
  • Proactively seek out and tackle issues that will prevent the delivery of business benefits in transformation projects, facilitating open communication and discussion between stakeholders. Be persistent in problem solving without letting challenges derail the transformation process.
  • Work closely with IT portfolio management team to ensure the right amount of funding is prioritized for infrastructure transformation.
  • Lead the definition, design implementation and execution of a comprehensive infrastructure transformation strategy, integrating elements across diverse functional areas including retail, supply chain, e-commerce, IT and security.
  • Prepare and deliver executive level proposals regarding Infrastructure-related initiatives.
  • Contributes to the development of the infrastructure team's technology roadmap and ensures its integration with the overall IT and enterprise strategic plans
  • Partners with the IT senior leadership team on the service portfolio and governance required to prioritize resources and investments in transformation.
  • Understand the expectations of IT leadership, the retail business, finance and customers. Balance the need for transformation with consistency and stability while building relationships across all departments.
  • Partner with global and information security teams to support strategic initiatives and security improvements
  • Improving customer experience is a key driver for transformation. Build partnerships by connecting with customers performing relevant research to anticipate their needs before they are even aware of them. What do the customers expect? What do they want? Identify the pain points? What are they willing to pay?
Qualifications:
  • At least 10 years of work experience with a Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • Experience leading a hosting/SaaS team, delivering operational excellence and demonstrating consistent improvement in productivity
  • Familiarity with RDBMS databases, reporting and data analysis
  • Good understanding of network (WAN and LAN) routing, TCP, IP, DNS, WINS, DHCP, and other related Internet protocols
  • Experience designing, architecting, and implementing Windows and VMware solutions
  • Experience supporting virtualization environments, including VMware, Xen, Hyper-V
  • Deep expertise in systems engineering, operating systems, storage, backup, DR, HA designs, databases, including cloud solutions
  • Experience working in a highly technical environment utilizing leading edge tools to transform and build a blueprint and framework encompassing legacy systems/platforms as well as emerging compute platforms
  • Possess extensive knowledge and experience with cloud computing and cloud native software architectures and techniques.
  • Extensive knowledge of infrastructure operations and ITIL processes
  • Demonstrate innovative, strategic thinking and leadership skills, as well as strong relationship management skills, with both internal and external managed service providers
  • Demonstrate excellent persuasion, negotiation, written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field, equivalent training, or related work experience
  • Master's Degree preferred
  • ITIL v3/v4 certification
  • OEM certifications
