Senior Data Engineer

IT: Data Engineer - Research Systems Boston, MA (Hybrid) One of Boston's top investment Management firms is growing their data engineering team. Role Overview We are looking for an experienced data engineer to help build the future of the Data Engineering Platform. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and would be able to assess information from high performance data transformations and analytics. The candidate would work on building functional data driven solutions to help the firm maintain its competitive advantage. Responsibilities

• Using modern data processing frameworks to build data pipelines
• Find data access patterns to help optimize company goals
• Collaborate with both external and internal teams to construct data feeds
• Create high quality and accessible data feeds that enhance the overall systems
• Research and use of modern data technologies
• Develop verification plans to assess the accuracy of data feed implementations

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineer or a related field
• 5+ years of experience with data lakes, data warehousing, or database systems
• Ability to design schemas, optimize queries, and design ETL processes
• Experience with Python
• Experience with Big Data technologies (e.g. Spark, Hadoop, etc.)
• Experience with modern, large scale data systems (AWS/Azure)
• Understanding of database design, normalization, distributed systems and performance considerations, and ACID properties
• Skilled in software architecture design

Experience with agile methodologies and DevOps
