Tutor

The SpiderSmart Learning Center (of Ellicott City/Columbia) has openings for skilled English language and math tutors.

For the English tutor position, a degree in English education, linguistics, literature, or a related field is required. Teaching experience is strongly preferred. Qualified candidates should be very comfortable teaching English reading, writing, grammar, and vocabulary as well as the SAT and ACT prep (English parts). This position involves teaching all levels of reading and writing.

For the Math tutor position, the preferred candidate is a college graduate who majored in math or a related field and has teaching experience. Teacher certification is preferred. The tutor must be competent in teaching math content for Algebra I and II, Geometry, and Calculus as well as SAT and ACT prep (math parts). We prefer that the math teacher has the ability to also tutor students in physics. This is preferred, but not required.

We have our own curriculum; therefore, our teachers never need to take work home for planning or grading.
