Job DetailsPrimary Responsibilities:Collaborate with researchers and engineers to design structures and mechanical systems to project and customer requirements.Conduct engineering analysis and calculations on mechanical systems.Fulfill the role of solution owner on projects. (Sr. Level)Assist with design development of modular shelters and ballistic protection systems including component fabrication, hardware selection and integration, and engineering calculations.Develop parts, assemblies, and drawings for components, molds, and equipment in SolidWorks.Support the Project Manager's efforts to comply with product requirements, technical and financial reporting, budget and schedule constraints, quality control measures, and other project management responsibilities.Participate in internal and external team meetings and provide periodic status updates to the Project Manager.Demonstrate familiarity with manufacturing equipment and techniques regarding vacuum infused composites and general wood and metal fabrication.Evaluate prototypes and off-the-shelf products for compliance with project requirements and clearly document results.Plan and conduct field testing as required.Qualifications / Skills:Knowledge and experience with composite material design (required)Experience working on research and development projects (preferred)Proficient in SolidWorks (required) and ABAQUS (desired)Experience with design for manufacturingConceptual planning and multi-tasking abilityKnowledgeable in CNC programming/ machiningConflict management and problem-solving skillsCommunication, reporting, and presentation skillsBS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or MET7-10+ years of relevant experienceMicrosoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project)US citizenInterested in hearing more?
