Primary Purpose: The WAN Engineering Lead will oversee the engineering, delivery and operations for ADUSA's local area networks and wireless platforms which spans across all retail brands, corp offices, distribution centers, data centers and warerooms and will have responsibility for supporting the multi-year strategy to transform the WAN architecture, and all associated technologies. Under his/her direction, the team has responsibility for the 24/7 delivery of all shared communication infrastructure, incident restoration, MSP and supplier management, and maintain secure SDWAN and internet connectivity services for all brands. This role will act as a subject matter expert in all LAN and Wireless technologies managing and overseeing the implementation and delivery of redundant, secure, and high performing software defined WAN infrastructure and related technologies. This Leader ensures that the SDWAN connections for all sites connected across retail locations, corporate offices and/or distribution centers can meet and exceed the performance and availability requirements set by the business. This leader will oversee the operations, repairs, and improvement of SDWAN and will participate in day-to-day operations and troubleshooting efforts, working with external RBS partners and internal customers. This role will work closely with other network platform and product teams including MSPs and other suppliers and will translate business requirements and functional specifications into technical requirements that continuously improve the entire suite of network services for brining improvements in network availability, reliability, and network performance. This leader will champion proactive mindset and thought leadership to meet and exceed user and customer experience expectations leveraging highly available /high performance SDWAN across the enterprise, supply chain and retail footprint. This leader will use broad knowledge of and experience in information technology at large, with a firm understanding of related disciplines and how they interoperate with network hardware and software devices and how to maintain technical alignment with all stakeholders for seamless network operations. This role will also be responsible for leading design, implementation, participate in day-to-day operations of WAN optimization and troubleshooting efforts and will be directly accountable for the results for these critical network platforms. Duties and Responsibilities: • Responsible for the end-to-end health and operation of the WAN network. • Drive scaling current network designs to meet the demand of our customers. • Create processes and documentation that help operate and build our network. • Work closely with our internal customers to help alleviate their problems and ensure our network continues to meet their demands. • Work on new designs/solutions, bringing them from concept to working operations. • Create and update our network standards and ensure that the network adheres to these standards. • Review and implement changes on the network through automation and orchestration solutions. • Drive operational excellence projects to make improvements in our network quality and reliability. • Troubleshoot complex problems and develop innovative solutions day to day on our network. • Work with a wide range of complex technologies including optical engineering. Leadership • Build and lead a team of WAN Platform engineers, ensuring both project commitments and operational SLAs are being met, day-to-day priorities are managed, and expectations are clearly set with network services internal customers and external partners. • Demonstrated ability to develop infrastructure lifecycle management strategies to manage WAN performance, capacity, availability, reliability, and new service introduction of network infrastructure services. • Demonstrated leadership and technical proficiency across all aspects of the infrastructure portfolio listed • Proven ability to partner with infrastructure, security, application, and business leaders to provide -technology solutions that respond to rapid changes in the business and ensure exceptional end-user experience. Qualifications: • Experience leading a team of network engineers • Experience operating/designing/deploying networks • Ability to effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions • Record of strong project management and time management skills • Desire and ability to work in a fast paced, collaborative environment • Strong knowledge of Network architecture best practice and experience designing with and integrating cloud-based services into production products • Experience in automating network administration using Python or similar languages • Understanding of other networking concepts (TCP/IP, Routing and LAN switching) • Key Skills: project management, communication, coding language, network development, network architecture, cloud-based services, agile development.
