FTR is seeking a Principal DevOps Engineer for a direct client. Position is Full-Time. Candidates must be able to accept full time without sponsorship now or in the future.The Principal DevOps Engineer will join the Information Technology organization and will work across development, infrastructure, quality assurance and operations teams to establish DevOps practices related to software delivery. The practices will be consistent across projects, code repositories and servers as appropriate, and will adhere to necessary security protocols. Utilizing Agile principles will be instrumental in the success of this position.
Accountabilities:- Build, configure and own the delivery of continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) technologies using Agile delivery principles.
- Comply with and contribute to the client's security, backup and redundancy strategies.
- Configure tools to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on tasks.
- Contribute to the design of information and operational support systems.
- Evaluate application performance, identify potential bottlenecks, develop solutions and implement them with the help of the Development team.
- Organize the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability, acting proactively.
- Implement security protocols related to the deployment pipeline and infrastructure, including automated code scanning practices.
- Implement shift-left concepts into the coding and testing processes.
- Work closely with our development, infrastructure and security teams to build an automated CI/CD.
- 6+ years' experience using Agile methodology.
- Strong experience deploying and monitoring web applications, desktop applications and interfaces in an on-premise server environment.
- Strong knowledge of CI/CD technologies, preferably GitLab and Jenkins.
- Demonstrated experience with secure development, coding and engineering practices.
- Development skills in technologies such as Java, SQL, YAML, HTML, CSS, JavaScript.
- Experience fully automating CI/CD pipelines end-to-end, from design to production.
- Experience installing, configuring and troubleshooting UNIX-/Linux-based environments.
- Experience with infrastructure testing strategies.
- Experience with systems reliability, load balancing, monitoring and logging.
- BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related program, or equivalent experience.
