Senior Automation Technician Location: Buffalo Grove, IL | Direct-Hire/Fulltime
- To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a/an Automation Technician located in Buffalo Groves, IL.
- Reporting to the Automation Engineer, the Automation Technician role supports automation engineering services activities such as hardware and software design and development (non-production).
- Maintain continuous system operation by adjusting, repairing, replacing, or modifying automation/robotic system components
- Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems and components and return to serviceability
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance actions on all subsystems and related components
- Ensure preventative maintenance of robotic and process support equipment are completed on a regularly scheduled basis.
- Understanding of PLCs
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical diagrams including complex automated system drawings.
- Analyzes engineering test results and implements changes to resolve problems.
- Collaborate with the automation team in the qualification process of automated systems.
- Records procedures and results, numerical and graphical data, and recommendations for changes in product or method.
- Maintains software, documentation and equipment to the latest revision or operational specifications.
- Assists engineers in developing and designing hardware and software required for all automation solutions per specifications.
- Trains other technicians and operators on products, processes, and equipment.
- Proper use of power tools and measuring equipment
- Strong awareness of safety
- Assists with customer presentations and interfaces with customers.
- Assists engineers with outside third-party automation developments
- Organizes documentation (specifications, schematics, and procedures).
- Typically requires an Associate's degree, military training, equivalent vocational training, or equivalent experience. Typically requires 2 years of related experience. (They would like someone with 5-7 years).
- Demonstrates advanced technical skills which may be used to conduct on-thejob training and/or lead/guide other employees. Highly skilled with ability to move between projects. Demonstrates broad knowledge of functional techniques and has input to process improvement. Applies new technologies and technological changes.
- Contributes to and improves techniques/ concepts. Assists in developing goals/targets of line or department.
- Requires little to no instruction. Requires little to no supervision.
- Compensation hourly band: $35-$39- (+10% for night shift differential)
- $3K for Day Shift
- $5K for Night Shift
- $5K relocation, on top of the sign on bonus
- Night Shift: 600p-600aSun,Mon,Thur,Fri, everyother Sat (10% Diff) (United States of America)Day: 6am - 6pm, 12-hour rotating shifts (3 Days on 4 Days off) then the shift rotates.
