Engineering firm seeking a Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) for the Maui wildfire project in Lahaina. SSHO must be on site 10-hours a day providing safety to the field quality control, cultural monitors and archaeological crews on site.
Hazwoper40 training will be provided.
SSHO requirements include OSHA 30, 8-hour supervisor training, and maintain 8-hour refresher training requirements. The SSHO shall have training and experience to conduct exposure monitoring/air sampling and select/adjust protective equipment. The SSHO shall have the authority and is responsible for inspecting site activities to identify safety and occupational health deficiencies and correct them; coordinate changes/modifications to the SSHP with the SHM, site superintendent, and KO; and conducting project-specific training. Additionally, the SSHO must have current first aid/CPR training. The SSHO is required to have proof of employment for five (5) years of continuous construction or general industry safety experience in supervising/managing safety programs or processes or conducting hazard analyses and developing controls or if the SSHO has a Third-Party, Nationally Accredited SOH-related certification, only four (4) years of experience is needed.
