ROLE

The Warehouse and Logistics Specialist at Kilohana Lighting, Inc. plays a critical role in the backbone of our company's operations. In this dynamic position, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire process of handling our products – from the moment they arrive at our warehouse to the point they are dispatched to our valued customers. Your work will directly contribute to the smooth functioning of our supply chain, reflecting our commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

1. Receiving Shipments:

Unloading goods from incoming shipments.

Verifying the accuracy of shipment contents against invoices or orders.

Inspecting goods for damage and reporting any discrepancies.

2. Inventory Management:

Stocking and organizing goods in the warehouse.

Maintaining accurate inventory records.

Conducting regular inventory audits.

3. Order Processing:

Picking items from inventory based on order sheets.

Packing orders, ensuring safe and efficient packaging for transportation.

Labeling packages with shipping information and handling instructions.

4. Shipping + Dispatch:

Loading goods onto outgoing trucks, containers, or other transport vehicles.

Preparing and processing shipping documents, such as bills of lading or delivery notes.

Coordinating with carriers or delivery services for timely dispatch.

5. Equipment Operation:

Operating warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.

Performing basic maintenance on equipment to ensure safe operation.

6. Safety and Compliance:

Adhering to safety protocols and warehouse guidelines.

Ensuring compliance with shipping regulations and legal requirements.

Participating in safety training and meetings.

7. Housekeeping and Maintenance:

Keeping the warehouse clean and organized.

Reporting any safety hazards or maintenance issues.

Performing basic repairs and maintenance tasks.

8. Data Entry and Documentation:

Updating warehouse management systems or databases with shipment and inventory information.

Completing logs and reports related to shipping activities.

Tracking shipments and providing updates to relevant parties.

9. Problem-Solving:

Addressing and resolving issues related to shipment discrepancies or damages.

Assisting in resolving delivery or transportation problems.

10. Customer Service:

Assisting with customer inquiries related to shipping.

Coordinating with customer service teams to resolve delivery issues.

11. Continuous Improvement:

Suggesting improvements in logistics processes to increase efficiency.

Participating in training and development opportunities.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Experience: Minimum of 1 year in a warehouse, logistics, or similar role.

Skills:

Basic proficiency in warehouse management systems and data entry.

Understanding of shipping regulations and safety standards.

Competency in operating warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks).

Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

Effective communication and teamwork abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience: 2+ years in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.

Skills:

Advanced knowledge of inventory and warehouse management systems.

Experience in customer service or client coordination.

Proven track record of suggesting and implementing process improvements.

Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification.
