Lead Educator for Homeschool Collective

Vacancy expired!

We are a collective of families, Waldorf teachers, and community members committed to bringing the best of Waldorf principles, sustainable living practices, and the wisdom of Hawaiian culture in an intimate learning environment surrounded by a thriving garden.

Our collective is home to up to 50 families each year, with children ages 6.5-14. We have been together on the island of Maui for over 8 years.

Our main “campus” sits on a 4 acre property, laden with fruit trees, an operating vegetable farm and features a large Christmas Berry tree forest with climbing trees, trails, forts, and campfires too!

We are preferably looking for a seasoned Waldorf teacher who can lead a class for a full year commitment. This educator would join our community as an independent contractor.

This position is best suited for a gentle, kind-hearted and imaginative soul who also has the ability to have appropriate and consistent boundaries someone who is truly a loving authority with children. Our classrooms are customized indoor/outdoor environments, and we hold classes 4 days per week beginning mid August.

This is a highly creative environment, and it is very possible for you to teach other specialty classes after school and/or other days if you are interested. Some of our teachers offer exciting Winter/Spring Break camps to increase their income, as well as teaching Aerial Arts, Garden Class, Ukulele, Choir, and more. Additionally, we come together as a community several times a year with community and class plays, Circus Arts performances, and yearly festivals celebrating the Hawaiian Makahiki season, May Day, Renaissance Faire and more.

E komo mai!

We invite you to discover how our unique collective can become your next teaching adventure.
